The Moscow class was a class-IX transwarp scout, a type of starship used by Starfleet.
Service history and specifications
The Vannis Shipyards were the sole producers of Moscow-class starships, and produced 3 a year.
Auxiliary craft
The Moscow ships were normally loaded with 2 shuttlecraft. (FASA RPG module: Star Trek: The Next Generation Officer's Manual)
- While the stats do not specify the type or modification of the shuttles and other auxiliary craft aboard the Hardin vessels, it is possible the number references only general-use shuttles and omits workbees, travel pods and other specialized impulse engine craft like high-capacity escape pods. The source material lists shuttle classes as S-20 (aka "type-7") administrative shuttle, SC-22 Sphinx-class cargo shuttle and SW-21 warpshuttle, inferring the Moscow's pair include one or more of these types. Other concurrent shuttle classes include the type-4, type-6, type-9A cargo shuttle and the type-15/16 shuttlepod, but these had not been conceived of at the time of the FASA game design.
