History

The SW-21 class was introduced into service sometime in the late-2350s, with 1,500 being constructed. (FASA RPG module: Star Trek: The Next Generation Officer's Manual)

Specifications

The SW-21 class was designed as a long-range warpshuttle. It was equipped with deflector shields, offering it some protection if necessary and was capable of planetary landing. (FASA RPG module: Star Trek: The Next Generation Officer's Manual)

At 70m long, 30m wide and 15m high, the shuttle had a mass of 2,360 metric tonnes and was unarmed. It could accommodate two flight crew, ten passengers and 4 standard cargo units or 200mt of cargo. (FASA RPG module: Star Trek: The Next Generation Officer's Manual)

Sub-light propulsion was generated by a micro-impulse engine powered by one FMIA-1 impulse reactor. Superluminal velocities were provided by two warp engines powered by four FWMA warp reactors.
