The Atrox class was a type of starship developed by the Caitians for Starfleet in the 25th century.

History

This class was originated after the year 2409 and was developed in response to increasing tensions with the Klingon Empire. This saw the need for a tactical advantage provided by carrier ships leading to the United Federation of Planets calling upon their member worlds for assistance.

This saw the Caitians develop their own carrier vessel in response where they made a fierce starship that was available to Starfleet. These ships were updated by the Caitians and the Starfleet Corps of Engineers to create a true carrier vessel. In addition, they were given some capabilities normally associated with a science vessel that allowed it to support its fighters along with other ships in its fleet. A standard feature of the Atrox-class were its two hangar bays that were stocked with Caitian stealth Stalker-class fighter. (ST video game: Star Trek Online)
