Refractions is the 28th "season" update to STO video game: Star Trek Online, released for PC on 24 January 2023.

Summary

Refractions follows four previous season updates, Reflections from 14 September 2021, Shadow's Advance from 25 January 2022, Stormfall from 10 May 2022 and Ascension from 14 September 2022, and concludes the storyline based around the machinations of the Emperor of the Terran Empire, who was revealed to be the god-like Wesley Crusher.

Wil Wheaton, who portrayed Wesley Crusher in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Picard, returned to provide the voice for Emperor Crusher. The game's cast was joined by Gates McFadden, who portrays Beverly Crusher (mirror), mother of the Emperor.

"Terran Gambit" story arc
- "The Fujiwhara Effect": The Alliance receives support from Mirror-Beverly Crusher to stop Emperor Crusher and the Other.
Task Force Operations:
- "Bird Cage": The Alliance must rescue mirror Beverly Crusher from the Bird Cage, a Terran high security prison.

"A Good Day to Die!", 9 February 2023, introduces the Torchbearer Collection that includes an EV suit, personal armor, costume unlock and the torchbearer's bat'leth.
"The 13th Anniversary Terran Bundle!", 16 February 2023.
"Take Over the Texas Class!", 8 March 2023, introduces the Texas-class miracle worker escort.
"First Contact Day Event!", 5 April 2023, explains the rewards of the First Contact Day event, including the Chronogami time portal console.
"The Legendary First Strike Bundle!", 6 April 2023, about the Legendary First Strike Bundle previously announced on Ten Forward Weekly.
"The Legendary Akira Multi-Mission Command Cruiser", dated 5 April, introduces the Legendary Akira-class multi-mission command cruiser, including the new visual Matsumoto-class variant. Ships of the class are equipped with 23rd century Command Kodai-class fighter squadrons.
"The Legendary Valdore Temporal Ops Warbird", dated 5 April, introduces the Legendary Valdore-class temporal ops warbird. The new visual variant is the Melponar-class from LDs episode: "Crisis Point 2: Paradoxus". Each temporal ops warbird is pre-equipped with temporal ops Scorpion-class fighter squadrons.
