A phaser beam array in 2409-2412.

A phaser beam array was a weapon technology, a directed energy weapons emitter installed on starships and spaceborne-installations like starbases and other space stations. Such a beam array fired phaser energy at a target, dealing an average amount of damage. As a beam array, it had a 250° firing arc. Phaser space weapons had a chance of knocking a target's subsystem out. These beam arrays usually fired orange beams. 23rd century phaser versions fired blue beams. History and specifics

Phaser beam arrays counted among standard weapons aboard Federation Starfleet starships in the 2250s decade. In the year 2256, the Malachowski-class light cruiser was equipped with a phaser beam array (Dsc)-rated weapon. (STO - Tutorial mission: "Reporting In")

In 2270, Starfleet's Pioneer-class utility cruiser carried a twin phaser beam array. (STO - Agents of Yesterday mission: "Earthward Bound")

In 2409, phaser beam arrays were standard aboard Starfleet starships. They fired orange-colored beams and were available with different ratings of advancement, ranging from mark I to mark XV, plus unrated variants. These beam arrays could be modified by personnel to improve accuracy, critical severity, critical chance and damage output. Aboard starships, phaser beam arrays could be slotted in fore and aft weapon emplacements. The variant dual beam bank could only be placed in a fore weapon slot, however.
