James Doohan (1920-2005) was a Canadian actor who was best known for his portrayal of Montgomery Scott in Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: The Animated Series, and Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Doohan also voiced "Scotty" in various spin-off media, and also many other voices for TAS. He narrated audiobook adaptations for 11 Pocket Books novels. Additionally, he contributed a lasagna recipe to TOS reference: Official Cooking Manual and a recipe for "Scotty's Lemon Chicken" to ST reference: Star Trek Cookbook.
