Idaho is a region of the North American continent on the planet Earth, with boundaries that were created as the area was settled as a geopolitical subdivision of the United States of America nation.
James T. Kirk's uncle Frank Davis had a farm in Idaho. After surviving the Tarsus IV Massacre of 2246, Kirk's parents sent him there to recuperate. (TOS novel: The Folded World)
Antonia Salvatori resided in Idaho, not far from a cabin owned by Kirk's uncle in Lost River, Idaho. She and Kirk had a romantic relationship during his temporary retirement in the 2280s. (TNG movie, novelization & comic adaptation: Generations, TOS - Crucible novel: Provenance of Shadows)
