Ohio was a region of the North American continent on the planet Earth, with boundaries that were created as the area was settled as a geopolitical subdivision of the United States of America nation. Its capital city was Columbus. (ENT episode: "Storm Front")

History and specifics

20th century

In the 1950s and 1960s, Project Blue Book was based out of Dayton, Ohio's Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. (TOS novel: From History's Shadow)

In 1963, a Vulcan survey probe crashed near Lima, Ohio and was brought to the Air Force base for analysis. On 26 September, two Certoss sneaked into the base, killed Aegis agent Ian Pendleton, and self destructed the probe. (TOS novel: From History's Shadow)

In 1971, Roberta Lincoln's parents lived in Ohio. She visited them over Thanksgiving weekend. Gary Seven's Beta 5 computer lamented being used for such limited uses as calling Ohio. (TOS - New Visions comic: "1971/4860.2")

In 1999, Canton, Ohio was among the sites considered for the Millennium Gate. (VOY episode: "11:59")

21st century

In the 21st century, Ohio was filled with sleeptel residency hotels. A time traveling Lee Kelso stayed at one in Canton in 2045. (TOS novel: Strangers from the Sky)

23rd century

In 2273, Lieutenant Christopher Lindstrom thanked Captain James T. Kirk for making sure Lindstrom still had an Ohio to go back home to. During the V'Ger mission, Kirk had led the USS Enterprise and its crew through the crisis that stopped V'Ger from destroying Earth. (TOS novel: Ex Machina)

24th century

In 2340, Starfleet officer Reginald Barclay was born in Ohio, in Cleveland. (ST video game: Starship Creator)

In 2368, Worf simulated a summer day in Ohio on the holodeck for Turrok, with the population replaced with Klingons incongruously playing softball, throwing Frisbees, and having picnics. (TNG novel: War Drums)

In 2369, Beverly Crusher and Deanna Troi had an Amish life holoprogram set in the Ohio countryside. (TNG novelization: Descent)

In 2380, the Orion Mesk told his fellow Starfleet officer D'Vana Tendi that he had been adopted by Humans as a child and grown up in Cincinnati. (LD episode: "Hear All, Trust Nothing")

Alternate realities

In an alternate timeline created by the Temporal Cold War, World War II combat encroached into Ohio. By 1944, nearly half of Ohio was under German control, but American forces still retained the western half of the state. (ENT episode: "Storm Front")

In the 1990s of an alternate reality, agents loyal to Khan Noonien Singh dropped nuclear bombs on scattered American locations, including Ohio. Refugees were relocated into tent towns along America's eastern coast. (ST - Myriad Universes - Infinity's Prism novella: Places of Exile)
