Thomas Edison (11 February 1847 – 18 October 1931) was an American inventor and businessman who lived during the 19th and 20th century. He was best known as the inventor of the light bulb and the phonograph.

History

In Antarctica on 2 December 1984, the immortal Flint — then using the pseudonym "Dr. Wilson Evergreen" — told Gary Seven and Khan Noonien Singh that Edison had stolen many of his ideas and presented them as his own. (TOS novel: The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh, Volume 1)

In 2154, Captain Jonathan Archer and Daniels saw an image of Edison in the time stream as the timeline reset itself. (ENT episode: "Storm Front")

Legacy

In 2280, Spock argued that advances in mobility would have been delayed by decades had Edison not encouraged Henry Ford to develop the automobile. (TOS - New Earth novel: Challenger)

In 2408 in the time stream presented by the Guardian of Forever, an alternate reality Admiral William T. Riker saw an image of Edison with a glowing light, overlapped with an image of the historic first use of the telephone by Alexander Graham Bell. (TNG novel: Imzadi)
