Events

Charulhans living on Andor take several influential hostages in an attempt to gain a voice in the Andorian government. The human diplomat St. John Talbot botches the hostage negotiations resulting in one of the hostages getting killed. It was Talbot's first failure in his 20 year career and eventually it led to his re-assignment to Nimbus III.^[2]
Alohk Ixan of Deneva is elected as the twenty-fifth President of the United Federation of Planets, succeeding Gregory Salamorn. He assumes office in 2281.^{[citation needed]}

The parents of future Federation president Nanietta Bacco are married on Cestus III.^[3]
