Liuen was star, an orange class K dwarf star with an associated system. The Liuen system was located in the Draylon sector and Beta Ursae sector block of the galaxy's Alpha Quadrant. Liuen hosted three planets and was controlled by the Cardassian Union. (STO - Cardassian Struggle mission: "Patrol the Liuen System")

Location

This system was located within the Draylon sector, formerly the Kalandra sector, one of three sectors - including the Cardassia and Bajor sectors - assigned to the Beta Ursae sector block. The Draylon sector was located between 40 and 60 lightyears from Sol. (STO - Cardassian Struggle mission: "Patrol the Liuen System")

History

The Cardassian Union colonized the system's pair of class M planets, Liuen II and Liuen III, in the late 23rd century.

Mos City and the Larobit Entertainment District on Liuen II rose to prominence and by the 25th century, the leadership of Liuen II was known to be sympathetic to the True Way. In the 2400s decade, Starfleet advised its officers to take precautions when visiting these settlements.

During the Federation-Klingon War of 2405-2410, Starfleet became aware of potential overtures between the True Way and the Klingon Empire. In the year 2409, security officer Adina Charles of Deep Space 9 dispatched a Starfleet ship to the Liuen system, where they engaged and destroyed Klingon Defense Force vessels.
