A dream by James T. Kirk in 2286.
A dream was a series of sensations in the mind during sleep.
History and specifics
In late 2267, Captain James T. Kirk, while taking shore leave on Vulcan, dreamed that he and his brother Sam Kirk were visiting his grandmother's farm during an oppressively hot July, and that they would soon be off to the fishing hole. (TOS novel: The Vulcan Academy Murders)
In 2285, when Captain Spock, First Officer Brinks, and Dr. Chu-sa from the USS Surak beamed down to the planet Proto, they collapsed into a deep sleep. Spock dreamed he was in an ancient subway tunnel under New York City on a raft with a number of people, including his mother. Aware of his dreaming, Spock tried several times to force himself awake. He succeeded after seeing the illogic finding himself half buried in rock and Brinks lighting some dynamite to free him. He then mind melded with Dr. Chu-sa, who dreamed of having ancestral wings and would not easily give up the gift of flight. Spock next mind melded with Brinks, who dreamed she was being attacked by a monstrous Vulcanoid. Once all had revived, Spock had the planet declared off limits. (TOS comic: "Dreamworld")
In 2286, while dreaming about recent deaths and personal losses, Kirk conflated Kruge, David Marcus, and Khan Noonien Singh. (TOS comic: "Debt of Honor")
In 2367, Captain Jean-Luc Picard dreamed that he was on a crowded shuttlecraft with his crewmates from the USS Stargazer in the aftermath of the Battle of Maxia, and that Jack Crusher was there as well, despite the fact that he had died some time earlier. (TNG novel: Reunion)
In the 2370s decade, the Doctor once had a dream where a surgery aboard USS Voyager required a second surgeon. B'Elanna Torres suggested rebooting the original version of the EMH to serve as his assistant. He recounted the dream in his guidebook The Hologram's Handbook, noting that he was surprised at the terrible behavior of his earlier self. He was pleased at the growth he'd achieved over his seven years aboard Voyager. (VOY reference: The Hologram's Handbook)
