Deviled potatoes was a type of potato side dish favored by Klingons in the 23rd century.
History and specifics
In the year 2268, Kang and Mara's crew served a home-style dinner aboard the USS Enterprise during their return to Klingon space after their encounter with the Beta XII-A entity. Among the dishes served was their version of baked potatoes. Captain James T. Kirk fancied it.
Nurse Christine Chapel adapted the dish for the USS Enterprise's food synthesizers. It was referred to by the crew variously as "Klingon" potatoes or — based on Kang's comment that Klingons had no devil — deviled potatoes. Her adaptation was formulated with baking potatoes, bacon, shredded sharp cheddar cheese, green onions, pimento, and salt. (TOS reference: Official Cooking Manual)
