In the Chimeran universe, the Chimeran cyst was a 25th century Chimeran Borg starship type, a probe ship class in Zhian'ressi service in the 2410s decade. It resembled a Borg probe that was mutated with organic and technological growths. (STO - Kings & Queens mission: "Curse of Phrygia")

History and specifics
In the primary universe, a Chimeran ravener known as the Chimeran specimen was held captive by the extradimensional Aetherian Concordium Harmony-class dreadnought Harmony and escaped during its visit to the Ram Izad star system in the primary universe in the year 2412. Soon after, a protomatter device tampered with by a Chimeran ravener aboard a Tzenkethi battle station in the 13 Ceti system, terraformed a Borg cube which then escaped from the Khitomer Alliance forces in the system. (STO - Kings & Queens mission: "All That Matter")
Chimerans boarded the damaged Harmony following a battle between the Khitomer Alliance and the Aetherians in the system containing the MIDAS Array. When the task force of Alliance flagships warped out, a Chimeran fleet warped in that included Chimeran Borg probe ships. A Chimeran probe flanked a Chimeran Borg sphere, a Chimeran phage sending out a signal next to the derelict Harmony. (STO - Kings & Queens mission: "Best Laid Plans")
The Chimeran occupied the MIDAS Array. Chimeran ships, including cysts and phages, attacked an incoming Alliance starship when it arrived to reinforce Captain Ezri Dax, who was alone of the space station following a failed diplomatic outreach. Chimeran ships were armed with a type of beam array, the toxic array. In strength and capabilities, the cyst was equivalent to an Alliance frigate. Following the arrival of Operator Zee from the Chimeran universe, Dax learned that the Chimerans were a fusion of augment Trill symbionts and the Borg of that universe. The combined force when mad and named themselves the Zhian'ressi. They used the array's triquantum wave to open a multiversal portal to their universe. Dax boarded the Alliance vessel and evaded strafing fire from incoming cysts at it entered a Chimeran unimatrix in the alternate Alpha Quadrant. Various cysts defended the now Zhian'ressi-controlled Chimeran Harmony. Following their defeat and the destruction of the Chimeran Harmony, Dax returned to the MIDAS Array system and the portal closed. In the aftermath, the Alliance cleared the Zhian'ressi presence from the MIDAS Array but the Chimerans remained at large in the prime universe. (STO - Kings & Queens mission: "Curse of Phrygia")
