UNP Drake schematic.
The UNP Drake was an unmanned United Earth interstellar probe from the planet Earth, one of 15 probes in the Wells series launched during the 21st century.
Service history
The probe departed from Luna on reference stardate 0/32.
On reference stardate 0/36, the probe transmitted data on unexpected space-time deformations measured in the interstellar void that required a course correction.
Legacy
Anomalies such as these "holes" in the galaxy first detected by the probe would be leveraged in the use of subspace communications. (ST reference: Spaceflight Chronology)
