In the mirror universe, TASA was a Terran space exploration agency, an organization capable of sending probes in from Earth into the universe before the Terran Empire became warp capable. (STO - Terran Gambit mission: "Eye of the Storm")

History and specifics

In the primary universe, NASA was an organization operating the Voyager series of space probes in the 20th century. Voyager 6 was eventually transformed by aliens into the powerful entity V'ger. (TOS movie: The Motion Picture)

The Humans launched Voyager 6 in the year 1999. (ST reference: Star Trek Chronology)

Similarly, the Terrans operated the Conqueror series of probes, including Conqueror VI. This space probe was also transformed into an intelligence operating with twelfth power energy, the Other. In the 25th century, Emperor Wesley Crusher recognised the probe and its origins after entering the Other's inside. In 2411, a Terran Empire invasion of the primary universe, led by Emperor Crusher during his attempt to merge with the Other, ended at Earth with the intervention of V'ger.
