Forbidden Fruit – "Forbidden Fruit..." is a Star Trek comic, a TNG story published in April 1991. This was the 18th issue of the DC Comics 1989 series of TNG comics. The issue was edited by Robert Greenberger, with a story written by Dave Stern & Mike O'Brien. The art was pencilled by Mike Manley and inked by Robert Campanella.

Summary
Wesley creates an experiment gone awry, a prototype hyperport transporter. He uses it to dematerialize and rematerialize a model sailing ship.
Wesley's tests cause a disruption in the USS Enterprise's power grid, and Chief Engineer Geordi La Forge and Data visit his quarters to investigate. At that moment, a humanoid man named Pierce appears on the hyperport disc.
Pierce claims to be a time traveller from thirty years hence, and accuses Wesley of killing his world. Pierce describes that the hyperport will cause a disruption in biological matter, creating a pervasive toxicity in all lifeforms using the device. After years of buildup, Captain Wesley Crusher's ship, the USS Santa Maria visited Pierce's homeworld on Rovan IV, releasing disease that decimated his people, including Pierce's son.
Filled with regret, Captain Crusher used the hyperport to send Pierce back in time to the day the device was invented. Unconvinced the Enterprise crew would do the right thing, Pierce releases V'Daran fever into the ship's aquifer. The disease runs rampant, killing the crew. In order to avoid this massacre, the prototype hyperport was again used for time travel, this time sending Data back to a time prior to Pierce's arrival. Data is damaged by the transport, and is partially incinerated, but he manages to warn Wesley. The sight of his friend dying convinces Wesley that the device was too dangerous for further development.

Background
- According to the title page, this story takes place between TNG episodes "Who Watches the Watchers?" and "The Bonding". The previous issues of the comic had taken place in a later timeframe, where Wesley was already a full ensign, after TNG episode: "Transfigurations". With the next issue by regular writer Michael Jan Friedman, the comic would return to a timeframe in later 2366 or early 2367.
