Bray was a 23rd century Human man, a Starfleet technician assigned to the maintenance department of the Federation starship USS Enterprise under the command of Captain James T. Kirk in the 2260s.
Biography
Commander Spock described him as convivial, but like Montgomery Scott both obeyed noise restrictions.
In the year 2268, when Yarblis Geshkerroth sabotaged the ship's life support systems to emit deadly xyrene gas, Scott assigned him to to repair one of the feeds to the air circulating system. Bray thought the damage wouldn't be too difficult to fix. (TOS novel: Ghost-Walker)
Bray and John Brunowski both tended to talk freely in the ship's recreation room. Christine Chapel had overheard both of them sharing various conspiracy theories. (TOS novel: Crossroad)
