History and specifics

A Welsh Starfleet officer, Upjohn, served aboard the USS Enterprise in 2254. (Short Treks episode: "Q&A")

In 2328, Gwen Jones was assigned to help Alynna Nechayev infiltrate Bajor partly because her Welsh accent was similar to the way Bajorans in the southeastern providences spoke. (TLE - Terok Nor novel: Day of the Vipers)
