Time's Enemy is a Star Trek: Deep Space Nine novel by L.A. Graf. It was published in July 1996, the 16th book in Pocket Books' series of numbered DS9 novels, and the third part of four in the Invasion! crossover.
Starfleet finds an ancient version of the Defiant near Earth, prompting fears of the Furies using the Bajoran wormhole to invade the Alpha Quadrant again.
Description
- Millennia ago, an apocalyptic battle was fought in the Alpha Quadrant. The losers were banished, but what became of the victors?
- The Federation is threatened by this ancient mystery when a battered and broken version of the Defiant is found, frozen for five thousand years, in an icy cloud of cometary debris. - The series featured a four-panel cover by Keith Birdsong showing characters from each book surrounding a broken image of one of the Furies. The complete cover art was used for the omnibus edition, but the Furies character's face was obscured by the title. The face could be seen in a promotional poster for the series. Additionally, on this volume it was decided to feature the Defiant, which is shown behind Kira and Sisko, again obscuring part of the Furies character's crown of snakes. The ship was not added on the German language edition by Heyne Verlag. The re-issue of the book released at the end of Heyne's tenure as licensed German publisher used a templated cover where the art was broken up with new space and comet effects added.
