History
The Televek are a very old race and are regarded as an unsavory lot as they have engaged in past endeavors of slave trading, piracy and worse.
In more recent times the Televek have made a reputation in the Delta Quadrant as weapons brokers, or as some would call them, dealers in death.
Culture
They are described as parasites that feed off the hostilities of others, and even encourage them to promote business.
Televek traders are not known for their scruples as they are more than comfortable in selling to both sides of a conflict, or even all sides, raising the level of weaponry technology little by little. And escalating the death toll in the process until their customers annihilate themselves.
Due to these actions, it has garnered the Televek many enemies, making them a very secretive race. They usually deal with clients through specially trained advocates. (VOY novel: Ghost of a Chance)
