Tanda was a female cartographer and the widow of Captain David Meyerson, an officer of the Federation Starfleet.

Biography

A female individual, Tanda was wedded to the human David Meyerson, a captain within Starfleet, a spacefaring armada maintained beneath the United Federation of Planets. While on a cartography assignment that had taken her to Starbase 1 in 2378, however, Tanda was the recipient to a letter that had been written with a substance that genetic tests identified as the blood of her husband — who had been with the USS Santa Cruz on an assignment to the Korvat colony in that same year. The contents of this message included an imprint taken from the hand of Meyerson and a phrase written in rough Klingonese that translated to a statement about there being "no victory without combat". (DFT comic: "Issue 5") Unbeknownst to either Tanda or those who forwarded the message onwards to Starfleet Command, her partner had been taken captive after the festivities on Korvat was subjected to an attack by Klingons from the Red Path cult, which converted him to their doctrine, though Meyerson was later killed in the Day of Blood, leaving his wife a true widow.
