Information

William T. Riker states that Campisi has a "rare case of female color blindness". The genes for photopigment in Humans are carried on the X sex chromosome, and only one properly functioning gene set is required to provide normal color vision. Thus, males (who have only one X chromosome) are more likely to be colorblind. A female would have to receive two defective gene sets for photopigment to be color-blind.
