Tuvok shaving.
Shaving was the process by which hair was removed from an individual's body using a razor or other bladed instrument, most commonly the face or head.
When trapped on a shuttlepod with Commander Charles Tucker III, Lt. Malcolm Reed insisted on shaving so that when their bodies were recovered he would look well groomed. (ENT episode: "Shuttlepod One")
After Gary Mitchell was altered after the USS Enterprise attempted to cross the galactic barrier, he told Captain James T. Kirk that his glowing eyes stared back at him when he was shaving. (TOS episode: "Where No Man Has Gone Before")
Geordi La Forge preferred to shave. He refused to use the shaver Commander Data had adjusted to provide a perfect shave and used one that didn't shave as closely as the shaver Data adjusted did, as he felt shaving was "a human art form." (TNG episode: "Code of Honor") In an alternate timeline where Data was transformed into a human, Data was reviewing the list of hygiene items he would now need. Despite La Forge saying shaving was an art form, Data opted to order a shaver that provided an automatic, close shave. (TNG novel: Metamorphosis)
Doctor Beverly Crusher tried to get Commander William T. Riker, Worf, and La Forge to shave off their beards during a poker game in 2369 as part of a bet, but they were called away before the hand could be completed. (TNG episode: "Quality of Life")
After shaving his head in 2370, Captain Benjamin Sisko used an automatic razor to keep the hair on the top of his head from growing back. (DS9 episode: "The Sword of Kahless"). Commander Tuvok preferred to use a long blade to shave. Even after being blinded by a torpedo detonation in an alternate timeline, he continued to shave in this manner, and insisted on shaving himself even though Seven of Nine thought that he should have assistance. (VOY episode: "Year of Hell")
Sam Bowers was in the middle of shaving when he learned that Taran'atar had attacked Kira Nerys and Ro Laren and had to leave the left side of his face and upper lip unshaven. (DS9 novel: Warpath)
Deanna Troi once used a straight razor to shave off Riker's beard after the two had resumed their romantic relationship. After being shaved Riker joked to Data that his face was as smooth as an android's backside. Sometime prior to 2379 Riker had allowed his beard to grow back. (TNG movies: Insurrection, Nemesis)
An alternative to shaving was to use a beard suppressant. While these were effective they did require an individual to keep up with an application schedule. In an alternate timeline where Captain Kirk was murdered on the bridge of the Enterprise, Doctor Leonard McCoy fell behind in applying the suppressant to his face, causing it to wear off and for stubble to appear on his face. This required him to shave and to reapply the suppressant. (TOS novel: The Entropy Effect) When Kevin Riley started to grow a beard in the 2270s, Kirk jokingly asked Riley if he had ran out of suppressant. (TOS novel: The Lost Years)
