The Shapers were a lost race who once lived in the Alpha or the Beta Quadrant.

Known only as the Shapers, they used genetic modification to create the Psyll, likely for use as sea-farming labor on the planet Volgas (FASA RPG module: The Orions: Book of Common Knowledge).
