Sam Houston (2 March 1793 - 26 July 1863) was an American politician and soldier. Following the Battle of the Alamo in 1836, General Houston led his Texan soldiers to victory at the Battle of San Jacinto and captured Antonio López de Santa Anna.

Legacy

In 2375, Julian Bashir and Miles O'Brien tried to see if they could win their holosuite recreation of the Alamo battle by assassinating Santa Anna. Neither Bashir nor O'Brien could bring themselves to kill Santa Anna, although one of their men, Captain Quinn, was able to assassinate the Mexican leader. Santa Anna's successor later attacked General Houston's army at San Jacinto at an earlier point and defeated them, before returning to the Alamo to do the same there.
