"Q-Less" is an episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, first aired in 1993 as part of the first season of the series.

Vash is discovered in the Gamma Quadrant and brought to the space station, leading to an appearance by Q, who tries to pursuade her to rejoin him on their adventures.

Summary

The runabout Ganges has limped back to the station from the Gamma Quadrant after suffering a major power loss. Helping the crew off the ship, Chief O'Brien is surprised to see Vash is a passenger. Q goes unseen by the crew.

Vash secures her findings from the Gamma Quadrant in the station assay office, including a spectacular geode. Soon after, the station experiences a power loss like that of the Ganges. Q appears to Vash, wanting to resume their adventures, but Vash refuses. Quark approaches Vash and asks her if she is interesting in selling her artifacts and Vash accepts.

Q challenges Sisko.

Q challenges Sisko.

Another power loss occurs and the crew place the blame on Q. Sisko meets Q, and when Q challenges Sisko to boxing, Sisko punches Q and knocks him to the floor. Sisko realises that Q is not behind the power failures. One power failure causes a hull breach and the station starts to move towards the wormhole.

The crew trace the cause to Vash’s geode, which after they transport off the station transforms into a creature of pure energy and enters the wormhole. The crew move DS9 back to it’s normal location. Vash is offered a position with the Daystrom Institute, but choses to return to her life of adventuring.
