Prentiss was a 23rd century Human man. He served as a yeoman aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise in the 2260s in the medical division under Doctor Leonard McCoy.
Biography
In the year 2269, McCoy and Prentiss carried the cage of pet waul Ewass from the bridge to sickbay. En route, they unintentionally hit a wall. When the animal panicked, they accidentally dropped its cage, the latch snapped, and it fled down a corridor. Prentiss tried to pick it up, and got his left arm scratched severely. After being treated and bandaged with a splint, he warned Spock to be extremely careful when reaching for it. Not long after, all three started to growl at each other, a reaction to the empathic panic radiating telepathically from the frightened animal. (TOS audiobook: Passage to Moauv)
