Mythology is study of, and body of myths, stories of cultural significance which explain natural events, the existence of life and the workings on the universe.

Cardassian mythology features a creature called the Mogrund which is said to occasionally return from the spirit world to correct the moral balance of the world. (DS9 novel: A Stitch in Time)
