Korial was a star system in Federation space, located near the Federation-Klingon Neutral Zone.

System Makeup and History

The Korial system contains at least two planetary bodies. The system is considered to have strategic value for the United Federation of Planets, as it is very close to the edge of Federation space, near the borders of both the Klingon Empire and the Orion Colonies. Some of the closest Federation systems included that of Starbase 27, and T'vam.

One planet in the system was home to Defense Outpost 1121, a Federation space station and associated ground operations facility. This station (and system) were part of the Federation defensive perimeter, and served as the 'port-of-call' for several border-patrol and scout ships, including Task Force 13.
