Hab was a smuggler who worked for the Maquis.

In 2373, Hab sold Quark the infant Changeling, having found it in the Terikof Belt in the Badlands. Quark was unaware of where Hab found the Changeling, so Odo approached Kasidy Yates for help. Yates called in many favors and got Odo the location of where Hab had found the Changeling and noted that the Changeling was likely irradiated by tetryon radiation from a phenomenon in the Badlands.
