Ela was a Bajoran who lived in the 24th century. They were a Ranjen in the Bajoran faith.

In April 2376, Vedek Yevir Linjarin was delayed getting to a meeting with Kira Nerys on Deep Space 9 because he had been talking to Ela about doctrinal differences which were at the time being contested among members of the Vedek Assembly. (DS9 novel: Avatar, Book Two)
