Driolic was a male Cardassian boffin and member of the reemergent True Way terrorist organisation that held the rank of Chief Science Officer onboard the Keldon-class cruiser Axon.
Biography
A Cardassian male, Driolic became disenchanted with the democratic ideals that had become prevalent within his people since their near annihilation at the conclusion of the Dominion War and believed the Empire should be returned to the militaristic roots of their previous regime. As a result, he would become a follower of the True Way, an extremist splinter faction that harboured kindred sentiments about the Cardassian Union and its stratocratic past, swearing allegiance to their crusade as the organisation embarked on a campaign of terror that was intended to overthrow Castellan Natima Lang. Driolic was also familiar with the basic tenets of Bajoran religion, namely their worship of the Prophets, a race of non-corporeal aliens that resided with an artificial wormhole, which he knew were weak to chroniton particles. Furthermore, he found that the nuances of temporal disturbances were cumbersome. In the year 2409, Driolic was a bridge officer who occupied the science console onboard the Axon, a Keldon-class battle cruiser that shared his allegiance to the Way.
During that same year, the Axon set out on a crusade to ferment distrust between the Klingon Empire and the United Federation of Planets inside the Organian Neutral Zone. As a science officer, Driolic found that his duties on the mission were limited, though he took an enthusiastic approach about his chances to conduct research into the approaching Driffen's Comet. In the official logs that he recorded on stardate 86790.08, Driolic reported that the scans he had taken showed how the comet emitted waves of triolic energy and chroniton particles, though he was forced to request that his studies be conducted through use of a Class I probe because the former was hazardous to humanoid lifeforms. Furthermore, when Driolic conveyed his curiosities to his commanding officer, the captain expressed little interest, preferring to prioritise their mission over scientific advancement, which the boffin understood, though he was nonetheless tempted to remind the other Cardassian how further studies could unlock the course to a potential weapon against the Bajoran "gods". In this same record, the science officer noted that chroniton indicated that Driffen's Comet had or would interact with a temporal event, though he nonetheless complained that time-related mechanics were inconvenient. Sometime later, the Axon was brought into contact with Devidians - a shapeshifting species that sustained themselves with neurogenic energy - who overran the battleship, killing the crew, including Driolic, who was presumably one of several crewmembers that were found on the bridge when hijackers from a member of the Federation Alliance secured the Keldon-class.
