A Diplomath board.
Diplomath was a complex 24th century board game involving business diplomacy and mathematics. The game included a double-layered board, playing pieces, and cards. A game ended when all parties agreed to a deal.
History and specifics
In the year 2381, Sam Rutherford and Brad Boimler enjoyed playing the game aboard the USS Cerritos. Beckett Mariner later joined in a game with them. (LD episode: "Mugato, Gumato")
Q later revealed that Rutherford knew Mariner was skilled at the game and lied about it to Boimler. (LD video game: The Badgey Directive episode "Encounter at Q-Point")
Rutherford and D'Vana Tendi also played the game. (LD episode: "First First Contact")
While trapped in the holodeck by the artificial intelligence Badgey, Mariner won five games in a row against Boimler, despite claiming not to care about winning. Frustrated, he wondered if he could beat her at Kotra. (LD video game: The Badgey Directive episode "Pique Performance")
