An axe (or ax) was a multi-purpose tool which could also be used as a mêlée weapon.

History and specifics

According to Klingon history, Ghorat wielded an axe in each hand during his battle with Kahless the Unforgettable at Three Turn Bridge, but was defeated and killed, nonetheless. (ST comic: "Klingons")

In the year 2266, Jeebo tried to strike Spock with his ax, but kept missing due to Spock using the transporter to disappear and reappear. (TOS comic: "The Cosmic Cavemen")
