The Aerons were a humanoid civilization that were well known for their hatred of the Markanians. Aerons fought them constantly for the 'holy land' of Sinqay until the Thallonian Empire separated the warring parties. They were ruled by a hereditary leader called the Zarn. (NF novel: Cold Wars)

Biology

Aerons had dark green luminescent eyes with no pupils. Females had a fluttering membrane and the base of their throats.

History

Sinqay was the original homeworld of the Aerons and the Markanians. After being moved to separate planets in the 23rd century, they could no longer fight each other since they didn't have any space fleets. However, in 2376, the Zarn, his wife and children were murdered by Markanian fanatics who invaded their mansion via an Iconian gateway sold to them by an Iconian, leaving only the Zarn's youngest daughter Tsana alive. After acquiring gateway technology of their own, the Aerons launched a retaliatory strike on the Markonians, but this assault was thwarted by the USS Trident, which was orbiting Markania at the time. After Tsana recovered from her catatonic state, she revealed that it was Aeron Warmaster Burkitt who actually killed her brothers Kreb and Toran. Before the matter could be addressed, Burkitt hatched a plan to seize the USS Excalibur using the gateway and use it to attack Markania. However, the appearance of the ghosts of the murdered Zarn and his family caused the terrified Burkitt to publicly admit his crimes. Captains Mackenzie Calhoun and Elizabeth Shelby then mediated discussions between the Aerons and Markanians. (NF novel: Cold Wars)
