1871: The Great Chicago Fire starts, destroying much of the city.
1992: NASA's Pioneer Venus Probe completes its mission and is destroyed in Venus's atmosphere.
2165: IKS Gantin battles the USS Essex after the Klingon Raptor-class bird-of-prey sabotages a Starfleet communications relay station to transmit false information. Captain Worik surrenders the Gantin to save the lives of his crew and provides information about a planned Klingon invasion, its first strike being at Ardan IV. 1978: TOS novel: Planet of Judgment is reprinted in Italian in the omnibus Urania #759.
